I totally get the mornings can be chaotic, but finding little ways to do this totally helps! I personally have an affirmation on my phone alarm so I read that right when I get up, and I have another one on our “10 min. to leave” alarm to remind myself that in the midst of chaos I want to send my kids off to school feeling joyful vs. stressed. I also wake up before my kids which gives me even 10 min to take some deep breaths and start my day.

2. Prioritize Sleep: As tempting as it may be to burn the midnight oil, adequate sleep is crucial for overall wellness. I know as a mama we never truly get our sleep back. Reguardless, I am still very establish in a bedtime routine to signal to my body that it’s time to unwind and relax.

Whether it’s going for a walk, doing a quick yoga flow, or dancing around the kitchen with your kids, staying active can boost your mood and energy levels. I try to do a walk around the block back to my car after school drop off to “reset” my morning for whatever tasks are ahead, and lately have been doing dance parties with my older kids when I pick them up. This also helps them get all the wiggles and navigate tired emotions from their day. Aside from that, I think it’s important to find ways to move your body and be outside if you can.

5. Practice Mindfulness: Take moments throughout the day to pause, breathe, and check in with yourself. Mindfulness practices like deep breathing, body scans, and mindful eating can help you stay present and grounded amidst the busyness of life.
